We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Specialist in Teledermatology to join our dynamic team in the Republic of Ireland.
Job Summary:
The Consultant Specialist in Teledermatology will provide expert dermatological diagnostic assessments to patients through our own teledermatology platform. This role involves diagnosing and advising on treatment for a wide range of skin conditions, offering professional advice, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in dermatology and a passion for leveraging technology to improve patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will be able to diagnose through medical imaging a wide range of skin conditions including capillary, inflammatory and lesions (including tumoral lesions).
To treat patients face to face
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct virtual diagnosis of dermatological conditions, including capillary, inflammatory, and lesion-related issues.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans for patients, including recommendations for further studies and referrals to specialist services.
- Provide expert advice on skin health, preventive care, and treatment options.
- Provide support for quality control through auditing of teledermatology assessments carried out by other consultants.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in dermatology and telemedicine.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training programs.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Face-to-Face Clinical Duties:
- Deliver bi-weekly in-person dermatology clinics, initially one day per fortnight, with potential to expand to 2–3 days per fortnight.
- Manage a minimum of 16 patients per clinic session.
- Perform physical examinations and minor dermatological procedures (e.g., biopsies, excisions of benign lesions, cryotherapy) as clinically indicated.
- Interpret histopathology results and integrate findings into patient management plans.
- Ensure continuity of care between telemedicine and in-person services.
- Maintain a safe and compliant clinical environment in line with Irish healthcare regulations.

Qualifications:
- Medical degree with specialisation in Dermatology.
- Specialist registration in Dermatology.
- Valid medical license to practice in the Republic of Ireland.
- Registration with the Irish Medical Council.
- Experience in dermatology, with a focus on teledermatology preferred.
- Proficiency in using telemedicine platforms and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
