We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Specialist in Teledermatology to join our dynamic team in the Republic of Ireland.

Job Summary:

The Consultant Specialist in Teledermatology will provide expert dermatological diagnostic assessments to patients through our own teledermatology platform. This role involves diagnosing and advising on treatment for a wide range of skin conditions, offering professional advice, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in dermatology and a passion for leveraging technology to improve patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will be able to diagnose through medical imaging a wide range of skin conditions including capillary, inflammatory and lesions (including tumoral lesions).

To treat patients face to face

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct virtual diagnosis of dermatological conditions, including capillary, inflammatory, and lesion-related issues.
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans for patients, including recommendations for further studies and referrals to specialist services.
  • Provide expert advice on skin health, preventive care, and treatment options.
  • Provide support for quality control through auditing of teledermatology assessments carried out by other consultants.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in dermatology and telemedicine.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.

Face-to-Face Clinical Duties:

  • Deliver bi-weekly in-person dermatology clinics, initially one day per fortnight, with potential to expand to 2–3 days per fortnight.
  • Manage a minimum of 16 patients per clinic session.
  • Perform physical examinations and minor dermatological procedures (e.g., biopsies, excisions of benign lesions, cryotherapy) as clinically indicated.
  • Interpret histopathology results and integrate findings into patient management plans.
  • Ensure continuity of care between telemedicine and in-person services.
  • Maintain a safe and compliant clinical environment in line with Irish healthcare regulations.

  • East Coast Midlands
  • Western Region
  • Southern Region of the Republic of Ireland

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree with specialisation in Dermatology.
  • Specialist registration in Dermatology.
  • Valid medical license to practice in the Republic of Ireland.
  • Registration with the Irish Medical Council.
  • Experience in dermatology, with a focus on teledermatology preferred.
  • Proficiency in using telemedicine platforms and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement.
