Role Objectives
To support children and young adults with intellectual and/ or physical disabilities, to live well at home, in their own community by providing high-quality support in line with their individual needs, sensory profile, and communication style.
To build warm, stable, and understanding relationships that help the child / young adult feel safe and grounded.
To support daily routines such as meals, personal care, recreation, community activities, and school transitions.
To implement strategies designed by the social care lead, behaviour specialist and wider MDT that support wellbeing, coping, nutrition, skills development and communication.
Engage in team meetings, reflective practice, and supervision.
Contribute to the overall quality and safety of the service through consistent teamwork, communication and documentation.
The successful candidate will have:
Essential Criteria:
Minimum of QQI Level 5 Major Award in one of the following:
Healthcare Support
Social Care
Pre Nursing
Childcare
Psychology
Full Irish Driver’s Licence required or in the process of achieving a Full Irish Driver’s Licence.
Be eligible to work in the State.
Skills/Experience (preferred)
Experience of supporting people with disabilities.
Experience of working with people with responsive behaviours.
Experience providing personal care.
Basic IT skills for apps and logging care notes.
