Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (CNM2) - Children's Disability Network Team

Location: Reporting to: Dublin 24

The Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (CNM2) is a key leader within the Children's Disability eam, supporting the delivery of high-quality, family-centred, and interdisciplinary services for children and young people (0-18 years) with complex needs, developmental delays, or disabilities.

In this role, you will be responsible for the effective management, care, and treatment of children with complex disabilities, ensuring the highest standards of clinical practice and service delivery within your designated area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes of patient centred care including the Individual Family Service Plan, involving the client and their carers wherever possible, to develop services and care delivery around the agreed goals and utilise resources effectively.
  • Contribute to the clinical formulation and decision-making processes in patient management.
  • All CDNT members and families will benefit from the education the CNM2 can provide, integrating their knowledge will add to the sustainability of all team interventions.
  • Develop accessible education material, information handouts for parents and children on various procedures, application processes and other therapeutic modalities.
  • Develop strategies to monitor and support families to manage the complex healthcare needs arising out of their child's disability and subsequently improve service user experience.
  • Act as an advocate or liaison for the child where there are multiple services involved in their integrated care. This will ensure that a child does not experience duplication of service of delivery and the child receives the right care, at the right
  • time from the right service.
  • The CNM 2 will support quality assurance, resource management, staffing and staff development, practice development, facilitating communication and professional / clinical leadership.
  • Provide professional and clinical leadership to the nursing team in line with best practice and national policies.
  • Ensure safe, evidence-based nursing care that aligns with Progressing Disability Services (PDS), Children First, and relevant HIQA/HSE standards.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of clinical governance frameworks, quality improvement, and risk management systems.
  • Maintain accurate, GDPR-compliant clinical documentation and support high standards of record-keeping across the service.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RNID, RCN, RGN, RPN) with NMBI registration in good standing.
  • Minimum 5 years post-registration experience, including 2 years at a supervisory or senior nursing level.
  • Experience working with children with disabilities, complex medical needs, or developmental delays.
  • Strong knowledge of interdisciplinary models of care, PDS framework, and family-centred practice.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, safeguarding, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle desirable

Desirable Requirements

  • Postgraduate qualification in disability, child health, management, leadership, or related area.
  • Experience within CDNT, early intervention, community disability, or school-age disability services.
  • Experience leading quality improvement projects or clinical audits.
  • Familiarity with electronic health systems and multidisciplinary documentation platforms.
