Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Critical Care Nurse to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team within a leading private hospital in Limerick. The successful candidate will provide specialised nursing care to critically ill patients in a modern intensive care environment focused on clinical excellence, patient safety, and compassionate care. The role requires advanced clinical judgement, strong communication skills, and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill or unstable patients.
- Monitor, assess, and record patients' vital signs and clinical condition.
- Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and blood products safely and accurately.
- Operate and monitor advanced life-support equipment including ventilators, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitors.
- Respond rapidly to medical emergencies and participate in resuscitation procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Support and educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, patient safety, and healthcare regulations.
- Participate in continuous professional development and mandatory training.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Registered General Nurse with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Minimum 1-2 years' recent experience in ICU, HDU, or acute hospital care.
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
- Previous experience within an acute hospital setting.

Salary range
- €38,000 - €56,000 per year
