Job Title: Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

On behalf of our client-a highly respected, top-tier nursing home group located in County Kildare-we are seeking an ambitious and clinical Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). Our client operates a state-of-the-art facility known for its exceptional standards of person-centered care, clinical excellence, and supportive work culture.
The Role
Working closely alongside the Director of Nursing (Person in Charge), you will play a pivotal role in the clinical and operational leadership of the facility. You will be responsible for managing clinical teams, maintaining strict regulatory compliance, and driving continuous quality improvement to ensure the highest standard of resident care.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Governance: Monitor and enhance clinical standards, ensuring full compliance with HIQA regulations and national standards.
Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and motivate a multidisciplinary team of nurses and healthcare assistants.
Daily Operations: Oversee daily clinical operations, manage rosters, and step in as the Person in Charge (PIC) in the Director's absence.
Quality Assurance: Lead internal audits, risk assessments, and the implementation of evidence-based clinical practices.
Resident Care: Promote an environment that prioritizes the dignity, health, and well-being of all residents.
Requirements
Full, active registration in the General Division with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
A minimum of 3 years of experience nursing older persons within the past 6 years.
Proven leadership experience at a senior level (e.g., Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM), Senior Nurse, or existing ADON).
Strong knowledge of HIQA standards, auditing processes, and safeguarding protocols.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills.
A qualification in Healthcare Management or Gerontology is highly desirable.
