Assistant Director of Nursing

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join a high-quality Nursing Home in County Waterford.

Requirements:

• Current and active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a management role within a healthcare or nursing home environment.

• Post-registration qualification in Gerontology and/or Dementia Care is highly advantageous.

• Right to work in Ireland.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills, with a strong commitment to staff development and empowerment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver and maintain the highest standards of nursing and social care, tailored to the individual needs of each resident.

• Oversee clinical governance processes, including assessments and care planning, to ensure positive quality outcomes.

• Lead, support, and mentor CNMs, nurses, and care assistants, fostering teamwork, continuous learning, and excellence in care delivery.

• Manage and supervise medication processes, carry out regular audits, and collaborate closely with GPs and pharmacists to ensure compliance and best practice standards.

• Assist the Director of Nursing in upholding exceptional clinical, environmental, and hygiene standards throughout the home.

• Act as a key point of contact for residents and their families, promoting a warm, supportive, and person-centred care environment.
