Agency Clinical Hub Nurse required for the National Ambulance Service in Dublin

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered General Nurse to join our team for a Clinical Hub Nurse role with the National Ambulance Service based in Tallaght

The Clinical Hub

The Clinical Hub Nurse Advisor is a new dynamic role within the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC). When a 999/112 call is received into the National Ambulance Service, the call is triaged by our Emergency Call Takers using a worldwide recognised triage. When the call falls within the low acuity category, it is deemed eligible for further triage by the Clinical Hub.

The role of the Nurse in the Clinical Hub is to provide telephonic clinical assessment and management for the Low Acuity 112/999 calls utilising appropriate clinical triage within the NEOC care pathway, so that patients are directed to the appropriate service that best meets their needs. This may not be an emergency ambulance response or transport to an Emergency Department.

The Clinical Hub Nurse will provide assessment, medication advice and health information supporting individuals to access the appropriate level of care required, where clinically appropriate, and in line with agreed protocols and procedures within the Clinical Hub.

JOB SUMMARY:

The post holder is a Registered Nurse who, acting within their scope of practice, will be responsible for ensuring that “hear and treat” services are provided through a Clinical Support Desk in the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) and that services are delivered safely, consistently and to high standards.

The post holder will carry out by phone, an assessment of the health and clinical needs of patients, utilising their professional judgement and supported by clinical decision making software, professional standards, agreed policies, procedures and, where appropriate, signposting the patient to the most appropriate care pathway.

The post holder will also provide clinical support to Control staff as required.

  • Must be fully registered with NMBI
  • Must have a Third Level Nurse Qualification
  • Must have 3 Years out of the past 5 years post-registration experience in Acute Care Setting
