About the Role

Cpl, Healthcare is recruiting on behalf of a leading hospital for an experienced Advanced Specialist Pharmacist specializing in Oncology and Haematology. This full-time, permanent position offers a key leadership role within the pharmacy service, focusing on delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care and clinical pharmacy support in a specialized clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the provision of pharmaceutical care and clinical pharmacy services to inpatient wards and specialized clinical areas.
  • Ensure patient care and safety are prioritized at all times.
  • Manage and optimize clinical information systems related to Oncology/Haematology pharmacy services.
  • Develop, review, and implement medication policies, protocols, and guidelines, including those related to Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT).
  • Oversee safe and cost-effective management of medications, including formulary decisions and stock shortages.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve medication management and clinical guidelines.
  • Lead audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy service.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for pharmacy staff.
  • Participate in hospital governance, committees, and service transformation strategies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland.
  • Minimum of 4 years post-registration hospital pharmacy experience, including clinical and line management roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in clinical pharmacy, ideally with experience in oncology/haematology.
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and resource management skills.
  • Experience with change management and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.

Desirable

  • Formal management or leadership training.
  • Experience with Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Background in aseptic compounding or cancer specialty pharmacy services.
  • Additional qualifications such as a postgraduate diploma or MSc in Clinical Pharmacy.
