About the Job

This is a senior specialist role focused on leading Oncology and Haematology pharmacy services within a hospital setting. You will provide expert clinical input, support medication safety and governance, and help drive innovation, service development, and quality improvement across the pharmacy department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery and development of oncology/haematology clinical pharmacy services
  • Provide expert advice on Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) and specialist medicines
  • Manage formulary changes, medicine shortages, and cost-effective medication use
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, clinical guidelines, and medicines information resources
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise medication management
  • Lead audits, KPI reporting, research, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Support budgeting, drug utilisation reporting, and strategic pharmacy planning
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop pharmacy team members as required
  • Participate in governance meetings, accreditation, and service development projects

Requirements

  • Registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland, or eligible for registration
  • Minimum 4 years' post-registration hospital pharmacy experience
  • Strong clinical background with oncology/haematology exposure desirable
  • Proven leadership, organisational, and people management skills
  • Experience in audit, quality improvement, and service development
  • Evidence of continued professional development

Salary range

  • €75,000 - €87,000 per year
