About the Job
This is a senior specialist role focused on leading Oncology and Haematology pharmacy services within a hospital setting. You will provide expert clinical input, support medication safety and governance, and help drive innovation, service development, and quality improvement across the pharmacy department.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery and development of oncology/haematology clinical pharmacy services
- Provide expert advice on Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) and specialist medicines
- Manage formulary changes, medicine shortages, and cost-effective medication use
- Develop and maintain SOPs, clinical guidelines, and medicines information resources
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise medication management
- Lead audits, KPI reporting, research, and quality improvement initiatives
- Support budgeting, drug utilisation reporting, and strategic pharmacy planning
- Supervise, mentor, and develop pharmacy team members as required
- Participate in governance meetings, accreditation, and service development projects
Requirements
- Registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland, or eligible for registration
- Minimum 4 years' post-registration hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong clinical background with oncology/haematology exposure desirable
- Proven leadership, organisational, and people management skills
- Experience in audit, quality improvement, and service development
- Evidence of continued professional development
