TTM are currently recruititng a Band 6 Speech therapist for a client in London. The post holder will be a member of the multi disciplinary team. Patients are from multi ethnic, bilingual, multi-lingual speaking communities. The Speech and Language therapist will need to be aware of and sensitive to social, cultural and economic issues of the diverse patients that come to the Centre.
The post holder will provide a speech and language therapy service for adults who have communication and/or swallowing difficulties. This role will involve:
1. Functioning independently as a speech and language therapist with an adult client group.
2. Specialist assessment, diagnosis and intervention with the rehab clients, including those with complex difficulties
3. Supervising the work of the support workers and volunteers
4. Contributing to the induction, mentoring and support of junior therapists
The post holder will autonomously manage a caseload of adult clients, using evidence based, client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. They will also contribute to key service developments, both within speech and language therapy and across professions and agencies.
