Our client, a well-established and sought after employer in the nursing industry requires a talented CNM for their long-term care facility in Dublin North.
The facility is a 66 bed unit with a highly supported team of nurses and care givers.
Our client would be happy to consider a talented staff nurse with ambition and drive who has what it takes to step into a management position.
Reporting to the Director of Nursing/Person in Charge you will be responsible for:
? Manage patient care to the highest professional standards, using an evidence-based care planning approach to ensure that the physical, psychological, social, spiritual and cultural needs of patients and families are met.
? Liaise and collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure that high quality holistic care is provided to patients and their families.
? Keep up to date with changing policies, practices and innovations within nursing and palliative care, and contribute to, and be supportive of, on-going professional and service developments at the nursing home
? Provide a high level of professional and clinical leadership, demonstrating clinical competence and expertise in palliative care nursing, display a sound knowledge of symptom management at all times, and provide clinical leadership when deputizing.
? Take an active part in the delivery of care.
? Participate in team meetings and family meetings on patient/family care as required.
? Act as a resource to nursing staff in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care. 1.8 Be familiar with, and ensure that all staff is familiar with, and adhere to, HIQA and Health Service Executive policies /procedures and guidelines.
? Evaluate and manage the implementation of best practice policies and procedures.
? Ensure that each patient and their family have individual and on-going 2 assessment of need, ensuring planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
? Create a good learning environment by keeping updated with new developments in nursing and palliative care and by supporting and encouraging open discussion.
? Provide support and supervision to the front-line staff where appropriate in order to assist them in their role.
? Ensure compliance with legal and professional requirements in clinical practice and documentation.
? Ensure compliance of all staff with medication incident reporting procedures and facilitate learning of same.
? Be registered with a Bord Altranais
? Minimum of 5 years post registration experience with 2 years minimum in a relevant area of practice (Care of the Elderly).
? Willing to continue professional development
? Hold /willing to work towards a Management Qualification
? Previous Management experience- Desirable.
Salary and Benefits:
TBC- Depending on experience
10% Reduction off all CPC, ADR, Safe Pass, Forklift any many more courses if working with ISM Recruitment.
