CARDIAC TECHNICIAN
PART TIME, TEMPORARY POSITION

ROLE SUMMARY

To be familiar with the techniques and range of equipment used in current medical practice for the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients referred to the Cardiology Department.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.0Key Areas of Responsibility

1.1 To perform and interpret the following: ECG’s, Stress tests, Holter monitoring & analysis, BP
monitors & analysis, Event monitors & analysis & Pacemaker follow up.

1.2 To be responsible for accurate storing of reports generated from the above tests.

1.3 Training in Pacemaker implant and ICD implant and follow up, Echocardiography, Cardiac
Catheterisation & Electrophysiology. Maintain accurate documentation regarding these
Procedures. Have adequate knowledge of the products required during these procedures.

1.4 To be professionally responsible for all aspects of the post holders own work.

1.5 Support the Head of Department in the implementation of initiatives aimed at improving
And developing the service of the Cardiology Department.

1.6 Maintaining the department environment to promote good infection control and health
and safety at work.

1.7 Working co-operatively with others as part of the multi-disciplinary team helping and assisting
other clinical staff in the routine work associated with patient care.


Person Specification
You must possess good communication and interpersonal skills and be a good team player.
Previous experience in Echocardiography or a cath Lab is desirable.
